Eating is the most complicated motor and sensory task we do. Successful eating requires all organs, all muscles, and all senses to work in unison, and your child's nutritional status and environmental factors play a big role. Studies have found that approximately 80% of the special need’s population has issues with feeding and approximately 5-10% of infants and toddlers have persistent and significant feeding problems. 25-33% of children around the world are classified as “picky eaters” at some point in the first 10 years of their lives. If your child is having difficulty with feeding, including refusal to eat, a restricted diet (picky eating), structured meal-times, grazing, and/or screen time during meals.
